how to stop facebook from ringing ?

i want to know how i can get my phone from going crazy with facebook updates when im online on my computer. I have the facebook app that comes with the blackberry curve and it kills me everytime i go online because my phone wont stop ringing! so i just want it to not ring while im on my laptop but have it ring when im not.

go to the applications settings for facebook and disable push notifications.
