The Fn+F2 and Fn+F3 keys NO LONGER controll the brithness of my HP 620? I re-installed Windows, then installed all drivers from HP Ltd official website, but the broplem is the same! ?

ADVERTISEMENTS

No matter what I try I can't make my HP 620 Notebook work .. I mean the Brightness of the screen is not controlled by the "hotkey"s any more! I installed new windows in the Notebook , of course I installed all the necessary drivers from the HP support website, Concretely I installed "hotkey support" software+ net tried all required Net frameworks but the Hotkey controll still doesn't work.
I tried various versions of "hotkey support" drivers from the old ones till the latest versions but none of the versions DO NOT make the Fn+F3, Fn+F2 work! Formerly I could also use Fn+F5 combination that made my laptop go to Stand by mode, but now this combination won't work too.
I cant' possible fix this problem! I don't know what's happened. Maybe the Fn Key is damaged? But the laptop is very NEW, so how could the Fn Key be damaged?!
Please help me!
The model of my laptop is " HP 620 WS729EA"

Please answer if you have any clue. I have the same problem.

When I initially installed the Notebook, the Fn+F2/F3 worked well. After all HP and Windows updates were applied, they stopped working and I need to use the Control Panel / Power Options to adjust brightness.

However the control is displayed on the screen (the blue bar indicating how the brightness is set). Just it cannot be changed!

HELP! Please!

Some more browsing brought up this solution:

"Quick Launch Keys" driver has to be installed, I found it here (not for HP 620, but it works on my HP 620):

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=de&cc=de&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3687621&prodNameId=3687622&swEnvOID=4058&swLang=18&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-78740-1

Everything works fine again now!
