Fastest backup software and device ?

Hi sir
I uses so much data on my pc and some times I got problems when some things delete from it and I have to format my pc because of virus infection.
Please let me tell which is the fastest Backup software and which device is better for backup and copying.
Now in market its available
Usb hard disks
usb hard disk book (usb disk with power)

Please tell me what should I choose for fast and safe backup.
