Hard Drives ?

I want to install a second Hard Drive to Windows 7. It is from a older PC, both are SATA HD's. I put in the old HD and BIOS showed it. When I went to My Computer, it was not there. The old HD has some things on it I would like to retrieve. The MB died on my old PC. Once I retrieve my information, I would like to use it as extra storage. I took the HD to a friend, who know more about this than I do. His PC running Windows 7 both SATA HD's and his did not show up in the BIOS. He tried using a boot disc, but nothing worked. Can any one help?

Hi David, sometimes, the disk is there, as its detected by BIOS in your PC, but it fails to get a drive letter. You can attach it to your PC and open disk management and assign it a drive letter and it will start showing in my computer.
