Mounting Windows Partition In Linux ?

Hi,
I installed my pc with dual operating system [Windows 7(First) & Linux(Second)]. My current processor(Dual core) supports 64bit kernel.In my linux file system ican view my windows partitions but i cant access it.when idouble clicked my windows partition it shows mount error. many of my friends told me to download and install fuse & ntfs-3g packages.i download and install them also but no use.so please help me to get rid of this problem.i need an step by step solutions.thans in advance

Open a terminal and type sudo su
Type fdisk -l (note which partition contains the NTFS file system)
Type mkdir /media/windows (This directory is where we will access the partition)
Type mount /dev/hdx1 /media/windows/ -t ntfs -o nls=utf8,umask=0222
Type cd /media/windows (Moves us to the windows directory)
Type ls to list the files on the NTFS partition

Try it out...This could help

Both operating systems have different file system,so is waste full to try to ply video of windows 7 ,linux cant support,
yes u can work with documents..withut any problem...
if u want to ply video then ,updte the code 4 the linux inbuild player
