iPad gmail outbox stuck ?

Help! My outgoing messages are getting stuck in an outbox when using my primary gmail account.
I've tried resetting the password to my gmail account, as well as resetting my iPad, no luck. I can receive incoming mail, just not send it. I've also tried deleting this account from my iPad and adding it as a new account.
