How do you fix a recovery with a MediaID.net problem ?

I tryed to do a recovery. The HP teck told me I could do it or she could send me a box and they could do it. It didn't seem hard and I thought I could save my files. She said they might not. So I tried to save my files My flash drive wouldn't hold it all so I copied the stuff I really wanted on another one. I ended up with two problems. 1) When I tried to reinstall the back up files it would not take the files I copies myself. And it wouldn't accept the back up I did through the back up recovery system I was told that the program could not find a MediaID.bin it gave me this <Back up Location>/MediaID.bin<back up location><Machine-name-folder>MediaID.bin(0x81000035) I put it in the search box it told me it wasn't on my computer. Where can I get this file so I can load my files. And is the only way to get the files I didn't do with back up recovery. Putting them in one at a time. Right now all I seem to have are half of the three or four copies I ended up with are empty. Any way to get that down to one without the empties. Thanks HELP
