Security Question - How to lokck folders?

Hello Everyone I wanted to ask that how to lock the folders in windows xp because there is some private data on my computer so i want to lock my private folders kindly tell me the solution. But for this i don't want to use any software because of some privacy. Kindly tell me the solution which is worked without the help of any software.

Make this folder private tab is not appearing in my sharing tab. Is there any provision to lock the folder using batch (.bat) file
