What is happening when the on button flashes & only the Dell logo will appear, and nothing else will turn on?

When I push the on button on the computer tower, it does not show green but just flashes on & off. The screen does turn on , but the Dell logo is the only thing the will appear on screen. The computer will not boot up & I can't go to setup options as well.

your computer is stuck at the boot. This maybe a hardware problem or a simple boot sector corruption.
