why has my screen gone white?

every time we turn the netbook on the screen instantly goes white why is this?

try to boot it with a USB or CD to check if the fault is with the OS or with the screen. If OS fault, try to backup your data using some live CD of Ubuntu etc, then restore your OS.
If hardware problem with screen, get it repaired or replaced.
