File Transferring.... ?

I have two Laptops one with XP, another with win7.
I have an Ethernet Cable.
Also have WiFi on both Laptops.

I want to transfer files b/w them. How?

Note: I dont have any Routers/Modems.

Please give step by step procedure in WiFi Adhoc n/w after connecting two Laptops in Adhoc.

create an ad-hoc wifi network on one computer and make other computer join that network.
