Generic non pnp Monitor Problem ?

From last two days My Dell Laptop Which had Windows 7 installed, is having a problem.
It is detecting another display automatically. Dumps the screen in order to change the display.

When I looked into the Device Manager. under Monitor, I found Generic Non Pnp Monitor going in and out. I tried updating the driver and rolling back a dozen times but it didn't work. Drivers are up to date.
Please suggest what to do.

Check the VGA /HDMI ports on the laptop and clean it with a vacuum cleaner / blower, looks like there is some dust or something stuck in the HDMI / VGA posts which makes the laptop detect something over that port. Maybe after cleaning it the problem will be resolved. Else, set the display 2 to be a clone of display 1 and configure both of them to work at the same time, this way, even if the display 2 is detected because of some reason, your laptop's display will not go off.
