CRT monitor frequency out of range and windows file corruped unable to boot-how to solve?

My 17" CRT compaq 7500 monitor is displaying "out of frequency" message when booting from XP CD and not booting. However, when booting from hard disk , this error not appears but booting fails as one of the files in windows/system 32 is corrupted and in this case it goes to never ending loop trying to boot every time but fails every time. I tried, as mentioned by Rohit, in VGA mode by pressing F8. But after that I can not proceed as system is not booting.Before collapse, i set the resolution as 1024x768.
I tried several hours and lost my hope. so could any one suggest the methods to solve these two problems.
