I have the google redirect virus, I think, but all of the solutions are not workable for me. ?

I have looked and been told to search for TDSSserv.sys, but the does not exist on my computer. I was also directed to go into the system folder and look for the regedit.exe folder and rename it, download malware then name it back to regedit.exe and finally remove it entirely from the computer. However, this folder is not in my systems folder, so again no dice. Can you help? I'm almost to the exhaustion point of what I know how to do. Please help if you can.

check the hosts file and also try the combofix tool, as it has helped many of our readers.
