quicktime problem ?

hi, i download yesterday the last version of quicktime for my macbook pro, but i can't instaled, a window show's up saying that i can't instal the lasted version because i have an previus version on my system, and i'm prety sure that i not, i serch in the spotligth, and nothing happend, what can i do , maybe with some software, i have Onyx but i not sure how to do that, and i not want to try , because i can make some troble on the system.. please help !
