Open Question Bookmark and Share

i get to the welcome screen and click on it. it says it is loading my settings then suddenly says it is saving my settings and goes back to the welcome screen. have tried task manager but it says it is disabled. it runs on windows xp media. can you help?

itsonlyme 		All sorts of reasons here.
First. log-in problem with the login system files on boot. This can be a real problem.
Happens also with Hard drives about to fail with bad sectors.
Try holding F5 to boot into safe mode. Then when in there just restart from start>Log Off and select restart. If the problem is not severe it should work.
Second. Virus. Virut (or variants of it) are known to do this. They also write their own Login files and move the original elsewhere. Eventually, selecting anything sends you to something else. A real pain.
CureIt from drweb.com solves that problem. You must run in Safe mode, and then download it to the desktop and run it from there.
